Max Verstappen shared his thoughts on how he would handle the title duel between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris at McLaren if he were the F1 team principal. Verstappen saw a brief resurgence in the championship fight with wins in Italy, Azerbaijan, and the US, but his hopes for a fifth drivers’ title have dimmed following a tough campaign in Brazil, leaving him 49 points behind leader Norris. Despite McLaren’s ‘let them race’ approach, Norris appears to be the frontrunner for the maiden championship as the season nears its end in 2025. Verstappen believes that having two top drivers in the same team can lead to conflicts and would not risk such a scenario as a team principal, particularly when fighting for a title. Piastri and Norris have managed to keep collisions to a minimum in their battle, showcasing their professionalism on the track. Despite some tense moments, their ability to race freely has not hindered their championship aspirations, with both drivers holding the top spots in the standings.
